Baklava

This will produce a fairly gooey baklava but still stable enough to be finger food. – Phren

Ingredients

  • 1 pack phylo dough
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup clover honey (if you do not have access to clover honey use any organic honey you can find. The less processed the better.)
  • 2 spoonful lemon juice
  • cinnamon for light sprinkle on top

Method

Step 1

Layer phylo and walnuts, rougly 8 layers total or 4 phylo per layer.

Step 2

Cut into 1"by 1" pieces.

Step 3

Melt butter and pour into cracks.

Step 4

Bake at 380F until golden.

Step 5

Boil water, sugar, and honey and allow to cool briefly. Once cooled add lemon juice.

Step 6

Pour syrup into cracks.

Step 7

If possible (I never make it) saran wrap and sit overnight .
