This will produce a fairly gooey baklava but still stable enough to be finger food. – Phren
- 1 pack phylo dough
- 2 sticks of butter
- 1 cup walnuts
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup clover honey (if you do not have access to clover honey use any organic honey you can find. The less processed the better.)
- 2 spoonful lemon juice
- cinnamon for light sprinkle on top
Layer phylo and walnuts, rougly 8 layers total or 4 phylo per layer.
Cut into 1"by 1" pieces.
Melt butter and pour into cracks.
Bake at 380F until golden.
Boil water, sugar, and honey and allow to cool briefly. Once cooled add lemon juice.
Pour syrup into cracks.
If possible (I never make it) saran wrap and sit overnight .
