Potato Gratin

We made some amazing potato gratin last night. – Malan

Ingredients

  • 1 lb red potatoes
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1-2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

Step 1

Take 1 lb of red potatos and boil them till they're still solid, but not super soft, you want some resistance to a knife going through, about 15 min.

Step 2

Drain them, and then smash them (not mash) in a big bowl. Add 1 cup of cream, and 1-2 tbsp of butter, and 1 cup of grated gruyere cheese, then salt and pepper.

Step 3

Mix it all up, and then divy it up into 4 ramekins (don't overstuff them) and bake at 375 for 20 minutes.
